Mamiko Aso

Japanese idol, singer and actress Mamiko Aso

Mamiko Aso was born Miwa Tajima February 29, 1965 in Fukuoka Japan. She’s a former Japanese idol, singer and actress and is currently a businesswoman.

Mamiko formed the music group Aso Mamiko & Captain in 1984. After the group broke up in 1987, she continued her solo career as Mamiko Aso, releasing a couple of singles in Japan. In the 1990s, she released three singles in Italy, including Drive me Crazy to Love in 1995, which peaked #21 in the local charts. In 1998, she created TAJIMA, she directs and produces its own wine among other Italian wine. Using the name Mamiko she released a Euro-dance single in 2000, Walking in the Sunshine (which probably sounds great if you’re in a disco in Bruges with a pocketful of Ecstasy), and then in 2004 Your Lies, followed by a book on Italy in 2006. Mamiko went back her real name, Miwa Tajima, and entered politics in Japan in 2010.
